Years before Biden threatened to nuke us another politician made an outrageous statement threatening to burn us to death with atomic bombs if we don’t give up our guns! In 2018 when the world was still reasonably sane in comparison to now.

You’re not Him. Fuck, you’re not even His Prophet.

El Paso, Texas is a blue city in a red state. In 2019 a POS (you translate) shot a bunch of unarmed people at one of the local Wal-Marts, killing 23. He has pled guilty to Federal charges and is waiting to be sentenced, probably 23 consecutive life sentences. This assumes he is not executed by the State of Texas when he gets tried under Texas law. (The reasons for the delay in that trial include but are not limited to the Pandemic and shut downs.)

In February 2023 a teenage boy who had just shot three people, killing one, in a non gang related incident pointed his pistol at a crowd that was blocking his escape. One of the men in the crowd was heeled and shot him. The kid survived and is waiting trial ( reminds me of the lines, “All I ever learned from love/ was how to shoot someone who outdrew ya.”)

In 2019 forty two people were murdered in El Paso, 23 in the Wal-Mart incident. Even with the post Pandemic nastiness affecting all America, I will be unpleasantly surprised and experience consternation if EPT’s murder count hits 23 victims this year, including those committed with hands and feet, cutlery, blunt objects, and deliberate strikes with motor vehicles, as well as those committed with firearms.

I’d rather hear and read about people using guns in self defense than mass murders that happened because no one was there armed to fight back.

A Canticle for Leibowitz happens to be one of my favorite books and I highly recommend reading it. There is a scene in the second part, “Fiat Lux,” in which the character Benjamin Eleazar confronts the character Thon Taddeo, grabs his arm, and tells the Thon, “You’re not Him.” One nice thing about being a religious believer is that I can look every leader in the eye and say, “You’re not Him. Fuck, you’re not even His Prophet.”

Take the time to read the Bible and Yeshua ben Myriam warns of false messiahs and false prophets. There’s an awful lot of snake oil salesmen taking advantage of people who don’t heed these warnings. Many of them are confused believers, others atheists hungry for something to believe in who don’t recognize this need and as a result are easy to sucker.

Now you may not be a believer, but I’m here to tell you that when any Politician acts as if he (or she) is the herald of the Messianic age, the wisest thing you can do is tell him, “You’re not Him. Fuck, you’re not even His Prophet.”
