Statists To Libertarians: "You Can't Win!"
by Tim Condon
The taunt goes out, from sea to shining sea, reflecting off purple mountains'
majesty, across amber waves of grain, throughout the home of the brave and the
land of the free: "Give it up, suckers!" Forget about human freedoms that
are guaranteed by our Constitution, bequeathed to us by our Founding Fathers, they
say. "You can't win!"

Noises
by William Stone, III
In my essay, "The Phantom Menace",
I predicted that Saddam Hussein and indeed, virtually all of the "terrorists" that
government has paraded before us would turn out to be absolutely no
threat whatsoever. I pointed out that the FedGov's stated reasons for starting a
war with Iraq were mutually exclusive.

Knowledge
by Chris Claypoole
One old saying has it that "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing." Another is
that "What you don't know can hurt you." In my estimation, certainly not original,
it is what you think you know that is wrong that is most dangerous and

The Lessons To Be Learnt From Switzerland
by Manuel Miles, aka Kapt Kanada
The Swiss Confederation was born in 1291 when three adjacent valley communities

agreed were simple: non-interference in one another's internal affairs and mutual
aid against all those who sought to interfere with any of the three allied cantons.

Cut Men: Do They Not Bleed?
by Wendy McElroy
Male bashing
the stereotyping of men as brutal, stupid, or otherwise objectionable is
commonplace. Our sons, husbands, fathers and men-friends are gleefully slandered
because they are male. They are subjected to malicious jokes and attitudes that
would be decried if directed at blacks, Hispanics, or women. The assault against
men must stop. But how?

Making It Up As They Go Along ...
by Vin Suprynowicz
The New York Times fires a young reporter for lack of sophistication in
manipulating the news. On May 11, The New York Times set aside an astonishing amount of space -- four
full pages -- to launch what may turn out to be an extended nostra culpa on
a one-man epidemic of "widespread fabrication and plagiarism represent(ing) a
profound betrayal of trust and a low point in the 152-year history of the news
newspaper."
