Exclusive to TLE "They are puritans, uncomfortable with suggestiveness in speech or dress. They are deeply suspicious of the corrupting influence of... [rock 'n' roll] music. They hate drugs. They believe in patriotism... They want to get tough on criminals, and have no problem with enforcing the death penalty. They see military service as the crowning glory of the individual's relationship with the state, and they believe that a country's leaders, from the schoolhouse to the very top, should be given respect and considerable leeway to carry out their responsibilities." That sounds like yet another article about the neocons of the Bush Imperium, but it's actually a quote from Brothers In Arms, by William Broyles, Jr, and he was writing of socialist Viet Nam ca 1985. I cite this description of an atheist regime to demonstrate my thesis that a religious war is being fought in the third Millennium between worshipers of the State and those who truly follow God. ["Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." -- Matthew 10: 34] Of course, many of the former pretend to be among the latter, and they may even believe their own lie. Sincerity, however, does not transform blasphemy into religious faith; the fact is that one cannot worship both God and Mammon, and the imperial State is one big, ugly, God damned Mammon. In such a clash as that between the kingdoms of this world and the Kingdom of God, it becomes easier to see through the lies at every battle, and the fifth column of false "Christians" is increasingly exposed by its very acts of sabotage and subversion. Support of the blockade, invasion, and occupation of Iraq, for example, is clearly an endorsement of the slaughter and torture of innocents. After all, "Ye shall know them by their fruits." The rotten fruit of the US empire makes it clear from whose tree it fell. As a Christian, I believe in free will, but I know that there are few actual coincidences, and that Divine Providence is at work in this wretched world, also. As proof thereof, I suggest that it is no coincidence that the mega-hit film, "The Passion of the Christ", was produced when it was. Nor was it a coincidence that the same forces which support the fascist government of Israel were in the forefront of the battle to prevent this movie being shown. Their failure resulted in millions of people seeing a depiction of the torture, humiliation and murder of Christ, thereby removing any doubt as to where God stands on the issue of "prisoner abuse". Now it is no longer possible to consider the Bush Leaguers to be Christians, just because they are puritans who cover the naked breast of a statue of Lady Justice. After all, their openly atheist comrades in Hanoi are prudes, too, aren't they? The systematic torture of the prisoners of the US military is not the doing of God's people, either, disingenuous claims of ignorance not withstanding. As one recent article asks, "Who would Christ torture?" The Lord used Mel Gibson to let us know that He knows what's being done in His name, and you can bet He isn't too happy about it, either, for, "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." There's something to think about the next time the false Christians make excuses for torture. The right wing Protestant nut cases all claim that God talks to them, and He does, too; they just don't listen. By now, however, it should be obvious even to the Bushies that it is foolish to ignore "intelligence" in a war. But they do, and this is why the Satanic statists of the US empire shall lose their war against God. That's good news for those of us who long for God to win so that we may enjoy His gift to us of...
