EDITORIAL MATTERS:
Have you ever had one of those days when you can't think of anything
to say? Yet here I am, trying to pen a few words to welcome you to
this, the 312th issue of TLE. We have a fine issue this time,
articles about timely topics that are in the news ... I knew
there was a reason I don't like watching, listening to, or reading
the news.
Just to be different, I'm not going to beg for donations this time.
Think of it as your local PBS station's ending of pledge week.
Besides, there's a letter in the letters section about that.
This issue's motto comes from a letter from Jim Davidson.
Please remember to tell your friends and enemies to come to
ncc-1776.org and read our little magazine. Fresh issues every
week.
Don't forget that you can order The Probability Broach: The Graphic Novel from:
Laissez-Faire Books
or Amazon.com

spokeswoman I saw stated that this type of "Indian" on "Indian" violence is
not just unusual, it's unprecedented.

The Living Corpse
by James J Odle
When it comes to the two major political parties, I normally consider
myself to be an equal opportunity politician despiser. I never thought
I would see the day when I would long for the return of the Clinton
Administration.

Congress Hates Mark McGwire
by Jonathan David Morris
All right, so now that Major League Baseball has
testified before Congress on the use of steroids, the
time has come to answer the question: Why? As in: Why,
exactly, did Congress hold these hearings? And what,
exactly, did they have to gain?

I... am a terrorist. No, no, not that kind of terrorist,
but apparently a terrorist nonetheless. You may be even more surprised to
learn that you might be, too.

Military Dads Denied Father's Rights
by
While he was deployed in Afghanistan, a U.S. Navy Seal
wrote a lullaby for his son Sean, whom he calls "SS." Sean may never
hear that lullaby again, not because his father Gary died but because Sean's
mother relocated him to Israel. She visited family there during one of Gary's
re-deployments and simply stayed, seeking a divorce from abroad.
