Credit The Libertarian Enterprise This is the first of what promises to be a continuing series—maybe. Are you a control freak? Is it your fondest desire to control the actions of everything and everyone, everywhere? Then read on! Hints regarding every aspect of how-to are exposed herein! On the other hand, if you want to understand how control freaks operate, then do pay close attention, for what follows exposes the modus operandi of the control freak. To know is to understand, and to understand is to effectively deprive the control-freak of control. This is a synopsis of the past week, regarding gun culture/control, thought/mind-control, knife culture/control, and thought crime—not necessarily in that order. Each item has one or more attributes researchable by the reader. So, if you must take someone to task for a story which happens to be not to your liking, please =DO= take that up with the attribute source, as I merely play the part of the messenger! Take note in the following that 'they' say "alerts" without any qualification as to whether those alerts actually resulted in a finding of criminality—or that a criminal act was even being committed! In the cop game, numbers are everything!! Swindon Advertiser (UK): "Don't give these guns to your children" Excerpt: Armed officers attended more than 100 weapons alerts in Swindon last year. And this year they are on track to deal with even more, according to figures obtained by the Adver.
The sky is falling! The sky is falling! IOL (ZA): 'We're killing each other at a baffling rate' Excerpt: Watch your back in South Africa. They kill folks there. Murder them at a bewildering rate. Robbers kill their victims, bystanders kill criminals, family members kill each other.
A voice in the wilderness ... ISRAPUNDIT (US): The Second Amendment Excerpt: This article's purpose is to demonstrate to even the most ardent rank-and-file gun control supporters that the anti-Second Amendment's leaders are dishonest and hypocritical at best (their attitude being that gun laws are for the commoners and not themselves) and convicted criminals at worst.

Excerpt: Outraged by reports of armed robberies on the National Mall, spikes in criminal assaults, and the brutal murder of a British citizen working as a political activist here, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) has called on Congress and the Washington, DC, municipal government to abolish the District's 30-year-old gun control regulations.
The Cincinnati Enquirer (US): Banning handguns makes no sense Excerpt: Let us say all handguns are wiped out. Not a citizen or criminal has one. The only individuals who possess them are military and police officials. What's going to stop a criminal from using a knife? What do you do then? Start a campaign for knife control?
THE RECLUSIONNAIRE (?): "Knife Culture I" Excerpt: In fact, you'd have to have years of fatalities from the fancy instruments of today's manufacturers to equal the mayhem the common screwdriver—cited in Calibre Press' 1989 video "Surviving Edged Weapons" as the "Number two edged weapon of civilian homicide." That was...up to that time.
I am not an inherently dangerous man: I shun violence. Up until a few years ago, I used to carry as many as 5 knives daily. It wasn't that I was afraid of anyone—I was not. Rather, it was merely that I desired to assess the utility of each implement at any given moment. How else does one scientifically assess the utility of an object without actually employing it in real-life situations? For me, it is supremely stupid to purchase more than one of a thing, based merely upon the assumption that it 'looks' as though it will suffice. Ergo, my need to test. But I wonder: Had some idiot cop decided to 'play fish,'—for whatever reason, would I have been labeled as 'dangerous?' And, how much possession of any one thing does it take for someone to be declared as dangerous? Does the desire—or inclination, to possess any particular object make one a dangerous person? And if so, is not the revilement of possession even more indicative of a consonantly dangerous psychological aberration? The idea—or thought of possession, happens as a result of either sight, or of knowledge: Keen interest as a result of curiosity. The idea of revulsion happens as a result of psychological instability, which equates possession of an object with criminal intent—regardless. According to the American Heritage Dictionary, 'mental illness' is defined as: Any of various conditions characterized by impairment of an individual's normal cognitive, emotional, or behavioral functioning, and caused by social, psychological, biochemical, genetic, or other factors, such as infection or head trauma. Also called emotional illness, mental disease, mental disorder. Ergo, revulsion at the thought of arms possession is a signal indication of psychological instability: A mental illness. The following article makes use of common propaganda ploys as a means of condemning knife carriers. The Age (AU): Edge of disaster Excerpt: Why do some people carry knives? Often those who carry weapons say they do so because of the threat of violence. They feel safer carrying a weapon and knives are accessible and easily concealed. Young people can also carry knives to be part of a macho culture.
Typical pretentiousness on the part of the UK mass media: Excoriate a practice simply that the dregs of the community have violated the lives of others. Punish everyone else for the acts of the few. Leeds Today—Evening Post (UK): Time to make stand against knife culture Excerpt: Knife crime is on the rise in West Yorkshire. Latest figures show knives were used in more than 2,000 offences ranging from murder to harassment in the last 12 months, compared to 1,900 the year before. It's a growing problem that has resulted in a number of deaths over the last few years. Now one of those most deeply affected by this scourge is campaigning for something to be done about it.
How times have changed! Almost every boy at school—from the time of 10 years-old on up—when I was that young, had a pocket knife! It was an object so commonplace, that virtually no one gave pause to the idea. A rite of passage, and not a thing more. The Fabian Socialists (Labor) are turning innocence into a crime, and criminalizing innocent behavior.
