Suppose You Were Fond of Books...
by L. Neil Smith
Suppose you were fond of books... You liked their leather
bindings, their fancy endpapers, the way they speak to you of other times and
places, the way they feel in your hand. You even liked the way they smell.

The New Class Struggle
by A.X. Perez
Years ago Marxists spoke of the Class Struggle, the fight
between the drones who enjoyed society's wealth and the workers who created it.
Communism collapsed nearly two decades ago, even the nations controlled by
nominal communists practice de facto capitalism to various degrees. The
concept of class struggle should have been swept into the "dustbin of history."

There Stands Schweitzer Like a Stone Wall
by Robert F. Hawes Jr.
The pernicious and blatantly unconstitutional REAL ID Act
has met with strenuous objections from many state officials, and, to their
credit, some states have actually taken legislative action to forestall the
program's implementation. Even so, as the Associated Press reported on
March 21, 2008, only Maine, Montana and South Carolina have not "sought
extensions to comply, or already started toward compliance with Real ID."
New Hampshire has asked to be exempted, but the Department of Homeland

Child Nazi's Strike AgainIneptly
by Geneva Robinson
In our progressive, allegedly constitutional rights aware
society, it is shocking to think of a government agency flauntingly questioning
and harassing a person without so much as an impartial witness, much less legal
representation. Sadly, not only has this occurred, but is considered rigeur
du jour for at least one government entity. Making it even more terrifying
is the thought of this going on involving handicapped children.

Slogans, Not Progress!
by Darian Worden
Americans often hear that we are at a moment of decision, a
crossroads, a crisis, or whatever they want to call it. This time it might be
true. There is far too much at stake to vote for politicians.

Don't Annoy the Pig
by A.X. Perez
You run into them all over the place. Many of them are your
friends, or at least acquaintances with whom you are on relatively friendly terms.
They believe in gun control because they feel most people are too irresponsible
to be trusted with guns, They admit they consider themselves to be too irresponsible
to be trusted with guns.
