THE LIBERTARIAN ENTERPRISE Number 560, March 7, 2010 "Nicotine is one of the universe's little jokes." Attribute to The Libertarian Enterprise Way back when [Issues 456, 457, 495, 506, 527, 543, and 560 contain mentionsEditor] I submitted an article to TLE entitled "The Res Nostra". In it I argued that governments establish themselves by force. However, they often discover that the intended subjects have the ability to resist so they make a counter offer promising to protect and guarantee rights in exchange for submission. In effect they negotiate terms of surrender. Of course they will break those promises at the first opportunity so it is up to us to keep on their case (until the happy day we free ourselves of the Big G) and contain their perfidiousness. I review this bidding to bring focus on one point: governments were established by thieves for thieves. Like protection racketeers who keep other thieves out of their territory they may in fact act to protect our rights and liberties to some degree, but they remain thieves. They think like thieves. And they are smart thieves. For some time now one of the biggest debates in American political life has been the issue of reverse discrimination. Basically, reverse discrimination means giving minority members special privileges at the expense of majority members to make up for unjustly denying them opportunity in the past so as to guarantee special privileges for majority members. This reflects the thieves' mentality, to give something to someone it must be stolen from someone else. It also reflects their Machiavellian cunning, keep majority and minority so busy fighting they remain divided and thus conquered. God forbid Anglos, Blacks, and Chicanos in Texas get together and push through Vermont carry or the expansion of public college medical and law programs to the point where all who honestly had talent got their shot. Finally they gain power as arbiters of who gets what goodies. They ration the pie instead of baking more, block efforts to open more bakeries. And they hang on to their position as quarter masters.
The Res Nostra needs to alter the way they do business if they want to delay the day they are abolished. And until that day comes it is important that there be no dougt that we can abolish them. It's time for the Mob, not the people, to pay tribute.
