THE CURRENT ISSUE

EDITORIAL MATTERS:

Philip Luty The Death of Philip Luty—his brother just informed me that Philip Luty has died. He had cancer, and his most recent sudden arrest and imprisonment delayed his treatment until it was too late. He wanted his web site TheHomeGunsmith.com kept up with all of his books as free downloads. I'll be getting that done in a few days. He is a martyr for liberty.

A Note from Our Publisher: No knife article this week, still waiting on Atlanta Cutlery to come through.

Dump the GOP in the Harbor
by L. Neil Smith
Suddenly it's 1994 all over again. I suppose it's possible that "mainstream" Republicans believe the voting public's memory is as feeble as their own. But it wasn't really that long ago (only seventeen years) that Americans—fed up, not just with two years of slimy socialism from the William Jefferson Blythe Clinton Administration (not to mention its murderous and still unpunished brutality), but even more with four years that had preceded it, of George Bush's cowardly, cretinous collectivism—showed up at the polls to turn the left wing out in massive numbers, replacing them with what they naively assumed would be advocates and protectors of liberty.

Civilized Government
by A.X. Perez
There is no such thing as a civilized government. There are civilized men who use government as a tool to maintain their civilization(s). There are no just laws. There are Just men who use the law to obtain justice.

Where We Stand Renamed!
by L. Neil Smith
If you'll pardon a little repetition, here's a behind-the-scenes story for you... For the past several days, I have been in the throes of a horrible sort of indecision that I am not ordinarily accustomed to. I have become convinced that the current title of my new non-fiction book on libertarian policy, Where We Stand—which has been readable online now for some months—is unsuitable, and so is the first thought I had for a substitute, the title of the book's "flagship" article, "The Plan".
