You Republicans talk about freedom all the time,
but you want freedom properly licensed, complete
with photo ID. Gentlemen, you can't license
freedom. You're either free or you are not.

An Open Letter to RINOS
by L. Neil Smith
You Republicanoidss believe you won a historic victory, a sort of revolution, this month, and it's true, as far as it goes, that the country—despite the damage an enraged gaggle of lame duck Democrats can do in the time they have left—seems to be breathing a sigh of relief. But it isn't true that you pseudoRepublicans won the election. Obama and his minions lost it. Very few if any voters actually voted for GOP candidates, they voted to stick it in Obama's eye. And if you you fail to accept that simple truth, then you are, quite properly, doomed.

Officer Darrel Wilson '...I'm sorry... but I'd shoot him again...I was doing my job.' Anyone else had enough of this shit? Last night, while the Ferguson Police were protecting their gangs clubhouse AKA as the FPD station, the cops let the rest of the town burn. This isn't surprising, the Supreme Court has ruled that the police have 'no duty to protect anyone' but merely the obligation to enforce 'the law.'

Regarding how the Economy is doing: As per usdebtclock.org: Median US income in 2000 was $28,788. In 2014 it is $28,583. Not much of a drop, until you compare prices for insurance, gasoline, taxes and so on. Gone up a bit, haven't they?

I Told You So
by L. Neil Smith
How many years have I been saying that humanity's future lies, not just in space, but among the asteroids, rather than on the Moon or Mars?. Well, I wrote The Venus Belt, which carries precisely that message, about 35 years ago. In the asteroids, we'll find everything from water to diamonds. One metallic asteroid a mile in diameter contains more gold than has ever been mined and refined on Earth.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. We certainly did. So much to be thankful for. I'm thinkful I'm an American. Like:

Greek myths are heroic, noble and tragic; but the American Dream is heroic, comical, and uplifting. Americans are a people in whom overweening ambition is rewarded, not punished. The Wright Brothers did not have their wings melt when they flew too high. Perhaps their wings were more soundly built than those of Icarus. I am certainly writing for those who believe in the American Dream.

And FYI, a Reloader kit for .22 Long Rifle. What? I didn't know that was even possible! More info

So, anyway, it is issue 799! That means next issue is Number 800. Wow! We will try to have something special next time, but you know how these things can go.

Tom Knapp has just put out a book, The Big Freakin' Book of Stuff, and you can get a free .pdf download at his blog or pay some $$ for it in paper.
