Now. all Y'all know that wev start these things out with a bit from Mama Liberty whenever possible. Weeeellll, Mama's been busy doing Christmas stuff, but she didn't forget to send me her yearly Christmas post to share with you, dear readers. So here for your reading pleasure, we reveal "My Perfect Christmas" by mama Liberty. [Link]

1950 was a hard year. My father died and my mother was left with two small children. She was a "housewife" and had no particular marketable skills. She also didn't have any family who could help her much. She was a recovering alcoholic and suffered from severe depression. Not a pretty picture.

This, of course, was long before the social workers, welfare, food stamps, WIC, or any of the alphabet soup government offices and "programs." All she had was her faith in God and her children, the few friends who stood with her, and the understanding that it was her responsibility to raise her children and get on with life the best she could.

So, the winter of 1950 found us all staying with a friend's family in a small Southern California desert town. Not the rich and beautiful part, but the dirt road, snowed in, wood stove outback of the Morongo Valley. There was no telephone or reliable transportation.

I was only four years old, so I have no idea why Mother moved there with no jobs available within fifty miles, any direction — and she never told us. The people we stayed with were living on a small pension and he was dying of lung cancer. Mother had $138. a month in Social Security Survivor's benefit. Everybody had big troubles, make no mistake.

Merry Freakin' Christmas, from the UN. On December 24th, the UN's treaty to create worldwide gun control went into effect. Now, our Senate has not ratified it, but Kerry signed it, and with Obama's record of "I've got a pen and a phone, and I'm not afraid to violate the Constitution and use them to pass laws!" leads me to suspect that we shall soon find out that this treaty has somehow superseded the US Constitution. Oh Well! If that becomes the case, 1776 Part Deux will come faster than anyone expected it to.

Man, do I wish I could have been in Washington State for this rally.... [Link]

While protests, rallies and downright racebaiting thuggery take place in cities like New York and Ferguson, a peaceful rally took place in America. However, the irony in all of it was that each one of the between 1000 and 3000 in attendance were fully armed law-abiding citizens to protest the new I-594 pretended legislation that passed in Washington State. But they weren't just protesting, they gathered together to violate the newly passed "law" openly.

Prior to the rally, which was dubbed the "I will not Comply" rally, there had been over 6,000 RSVPs. However, on December 13, 2014, over 1,000 Washington residents descended on the state capitol of Olympia, amid cold and fog, in protest to defy I-594, a gun regisration "law" backed by the likes of Michael Bloomberg and Bill Gates.

* * * * *

"This is not simply a protest," he wrote. "We will openly exchange, buy and sell and trade guns and start a plan to break apart this legislation and violate i-594 in every possible way. Because ALL law that violates the Constitution is not law, it is VOID!"

Mr. Seim even refused to obtain a permit to exercise his God-given rights protected under the First Amendment to freely protest (freedom of speech) his government.

Interestingly enough, the Washington State Patrol said that they would not be arresting anyone for exchanging or selling their guns.

Seim led the protest in a time of prayer and then in a Pledge of Allegiance. However, Seim said, "I am not pledging obedience to the government, it is to the Republic. We don't ask for our rights, and we don't negotiate for our rights. We will take America back."

* * * * *

Many engaged in what was predicted as the day of burn barrels, similar to those in New York following the passage of the NY SAFE Act, as they pledged themselves to liberty.

Truth and Action reported, "At the end of the rally, gun owners burned their concealed weapons permits and signed a petition vowing to refuse to follow the new gun control law. The petition ended with the text, 'We pledge our blood. We will not comply.'"

While the rally was overshadowed by the protests in New York and Ferguson, which have resulted in property damage and injuries to other people, this rally was fueled only by the spirit of freedom, not racism. While we have seen the mayhem and even murder in both New York and Ferguson, the thing that liberals, socialists and communists in America have said was such a danger, guns, was on fully display in large numbers of people against government tyranny and not one window was broken, one business burned down nor one police officer beaten or murdered. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it commies!

Gotta love a felonious PEACEFUL protest with zero property damage, zero violence, and zero arrests. Oh, and the part to NOT love is zero national media coverage.

Recently, we discussed warning shots, and their absolute stupidity (you KNOW it's stupid, Joe Biden supports them). Well, here's a link to 10 reasons WHY they are so stupid (besides that excellent reason, I mean). [Link]

You know a myth is widespread when it emanates from the White House. In 2013 while campaigning for a ban on so-called "assault rifles," Vice-President Joseph Biden told the public he had advised his wife that if there was a home invasion, she was to take a double barrel shotgun and fire both barrels upwards. One can only imagine how the Secret Service Vice-Presidential detail felt when they heard that. I can tell you that across the nation lawyers, cops, and gun-wise people rolled their eyes and shook their heads.

Here are 10 reasons why firing a warning shot is not a good idea.

1. What goes up, must come down. The stereotyped warning shot is fired skyward. Shooting live ammunition into the sky is a practice normally associated with Third World countries where respect for human life is not as great as in the United States. There are many cases on record where such bullets "fell from the sky" and killed innocent people. In one New England case, a man carelessly fired a warning shot upward in the state's largest city; the bullet struck and killed an innocent bystander who was on the upper porch of a tenement building.

Nine more great reasons are at the link.... (Thanks to TJ Mason for the link)

Linked as part of a comment to LAST week's Rant, SixPick (A NewsTalker Handle) sent me this.... [Link] Where Oh Where are the US legislators like this man? In response to the terrorist attack in the Sydney coffee house, Sen. David Leyonhjelm of Australia's Liberal Democratic Party had some telling comments for his fellow lawmakers.

In the wake of the jihadist taking hostages in a Sydney café earlier this week and murdering two of them, and Australian lawmaker blasted the tyrannical gun laws, similar to those in England, that led to the citizens he serves being turned into a "nation of victims."

Sen. David Leyonhjelm of Australia's Liberal Democratic Party said that if the hostages had been allowed to carry guns concealed there would have been someone who would have been able to stop him.

"That nutcase who held them all hostage wouldn't have known that they were armed and bad guys don't like to be shot back at," Senator Leyonhjelm told ABC radio, according to the Guardian.

"We are all disarmed victims," Leyonhjelm added.

He then spoke about Tori Johnson and Katrina Dawson, who were reportedly shot by the Islamist just moments before police entered the café and shot him dead.

"It would have been illegal for them to have a knife, a stick, a pepper spray, a personal Taser, mace, anything like that for self-defence," Senator Leyonhjelm said.

"To turn an entire population into a nation of victims is just unforgivable," the Senator concluded.

Yes, Senator, it IS unforgivable. In fact, in MY opinion, it is a human rights violation. Read the link, there is SOOO much more there.

Where oh where do I start with this pile of equine excrement... [Link] First, it is ENCOURAGING kids to steal guns (his first felony) and take them TO SCHOOL(his next felony)! In the real world, IF the kid did this, he'd be facing felony charges under the "Zero Tolerance Policy" of most school systems these days AND for theft. great start, film-maker—encourage felonious acts from kids. Next, he didn't clear the weapon first, so the gun might have been loaded (it happens to be either a BB gun or a fake, but I digress.....), meaning that he faced the possibility of an AD ON SCHOOL GROUNDS!

Show and tell on your parents.

Here's the latest plan to end gun violence — by encouraging concerned children to steal their parents' firearms from them and turn them in at schools, or perhaps police precincts.

Unbelievable, but it is happening:

The PSA video above shows a young teen dramatically rifling through his parents' drawer, only to take out a handgun and put it in his backpack, all while his mother is downstairs reading.

The next day, he brings the gun to school, sits through class, and places it on a startled teacher's desk before asking, "Can you take this away? I don't feel safe with a gun in my house."

This is independent director Rejina Sincic's idea of how to end gun violence and keep children safe. The message at the end reads, "Our children deserve a safe world. Stop gun violence now."

Hardly the connection most people would make with a student bringing a weapon to school... not to mention a terrible and dangerous example for the children.

I really don't know how this... JACKASS of a film director could possibly think this is a good idea. An AD occurs, or the bookbag is stolen or lost, or the bag falls open on the bus, or the kid .... I cannot even BEGIN to list all the ways this kid is screwed since he's too stupid to even unload the weapon. His BEST ending for this is a few years in Juvie. His worst ending is gunned down by cops who think the piss-poor gun handling as an attempt to shoot them if he were to take the gun to the cop on the street. UPDATE: This "PSA" has stirred such controversy, the maker has pulled it from YouTube. HOWEVER, a wonderful spoof has been posted, and if I can find the link, I will include it here. And here it is. [Link] I LOVE the closing lines... "Somewhere, a tree is manufacturing oxygen for you to breathe. You should apologize." That line is priceless.

Oh, LOOKIE! It seems that mass shootings, with only two exceptions since 1950, have ALL occurred where guns were prohibited. [Link] I guess that blows the whole "Allowing people to carry guns everywhere only breeds mass shootings and violent crime" theory all to hell.

A professor from Purdue researched mass shooting from the 1950s on and discovered that only two of them occurred where guns are legal to be carried. This really blows apart the liberal's argument that more guns means more mass shootings. Between 2004 and 2012, gun ownership increased by 61%. But since 2008, violent crimes decreased by 12.9%. Eric Dietz, Ph.D., the former director of Homeland Security for the state of Indiana and 22-year Army veteran, and now a professor at Purdue University, set out to find out how armed citizens could prevent deaths.

Of course, we'll NEVER read this study in the mainstream media, nor will it be even mentioned in the news.

The Quotes of the Week are now ready for reading. So start reading!

"You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the struggle for independence."—Charles A. Beard

"...to disarm the people (is) the best and most effective way to enslave them..."—George Mason

"Waiting periods are only a step. Registration is only a step. The prohibition of private firearms is the goal."—Janet Reno, US Attorney General

"The right of self-defense is the first law of nature; in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest limits possible. Wherever standing armies are kept up, and when the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any color or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction."—Henry St. George Tucker, in Blackstone's 1768 "Commentaries on the Laws of England."

"Americans have too many rights, and I, for one, cannot wait to begin removing this one!(the 2nd Amendment)"—Lake Como Chief of Police, Rosman H. Cash.

And that's a wrap, friends (and others)!
