The world seems to be getting better every day, a
little at a time. It may not seem like very much to
you, especially if you're young and impatient to be
free, but considering where we started it's more
progress than I had ever hoped to see.

Open Carry
by L. Neil Smith
There is a gigantic, horrific flapdoodle right now in the Lone Star legislature over the issue of "open carry". Which means that the politicos are arguing over whether people—Americans, supposedly already protected by the Bill of Rights—ought to be allowed by the government to carry a weapon that can be (gasp!) seen by others in public.

Consider "Conspiracy Theory"
by Richard Bartucci
I've been doing some whack-a-mole against the Watermelons on the subject of anthropogenic ("man-made") global warming / climate change / climate "fragility," and when I mention the collusion particularly well-demonstrated in the e-mails among the charlatan Climatic Research Unit correspondents dumped to the net in the Climategate tranches, I've gotten from these scrabbling little cockroaches endless "Godwin's Law"-style efforts at blanking out, chiefly by way of the expression "conspiracy theory".

Purple Fatheads & Other Thoughtcrimes on Earth Day
by Jeff Fullerton
Celebrated yet another birthday—this past week—if I can even call a birthday cause for celebration anymore. Actually I'm not that old but sometimes I think it can be a blessing to forget my age. The date falls on the 22nd of April a decade before it became the date we celebrate the worship of dirt. Earth Day of all things: which is shared by the son of a co-worker; one of my friend Ray's two daughters and the historically infamous tyrant who started the Soviet Union—in honor of whom it has been speculated the the date was chosen.

Margaret Thatcher, the Miners' Strike, and the Triumph of Middle Class Leftism
by Sean Gabb

A few days ago, I put the following post on my Facebook account: It's about thirty years since the end of the Miners' Strike—the final humbling of our working classes. Thinking back, I am filled with hatred for Margaret Thatcher, and despise myself for having believed in her. I appeared to be siding with the workers in a loss-making nationalised industry against the woman who is generally credited with saving the country for socialism. My posting led to an often sharp discussion, in which, among others, these points were made against me....

Blade of P'Na
An Anticipation by L. Neil Smith
ALTERNATE VERSIONS of the planet Earth are virtually infinite in number. On one of them, the dominant species is a variety of giant, coiled nautiloid or ammonite, resembling Volkswagen-sized squid in a bright, colorful snail shell. Half a billion years ago, they evolved sapience—the ability not only to think (which is called "sentience"), but to think about _thinking_—creating, along the way, a uniquely vibrant civilization.

Neale's Weekly Gun Rant for 4-26-2015
by Neale Osborn
Mama Liberty, being pretty damn good at hitting the nail on the head, hits one out of the park! It's called "Guns, A Great Mother's Day Gift." Last Mother's Day, one of my sons gave me a HiPoint 9mm carbine. We had talked about the fact that I was having a harder time shooting the larger caliber rifles, and even had problems with the much loved Mossberg 20 gauge shotgun. I just wasn't shooting as much as I used to, even though I own a lot of different guns. I'm nearly 70 years old, with some serious problems due to an old back injury, and it is only going to get worse as time goes on. Why would I concern myself with it? Why do I want to continue to be able to shoot well?

EDITORIAL MATTERS

In view of the Marxist-Political-Correctors' constant lies we note:

Colorado Campus Carry: 12 Years, No Mass Shootings, No Crimes by Permit Holders
by AWR Hawkins

On April 20, The Washington Post ran a column showing that campus carry has been the law of the land in Colorado since 2003, and the results have not been anything like those currently fighting against campus carry claim it should be.

There have been no mass shootings and, apart from one incident in which a gun was accidentally discharged by a Colorado University employee, there have been no crimes by permit holders.

Tip of the hat to JPFO for bringing this to our attention.

Remember: anything and everything said by the Marxist-Political-Correctors' is a lie. It is what they do. It is all they know how to do—lying and shrieking about their feelings, as if their feelings were the most important thing in the world! What maroons!

Speaking of moronic Political-Correctors:

The Death of Science Fiction Literature
How Political Correctness and Mainstream Conformity Have Wrecked An Eccentric Genre of Literary Fine Art

by James May
Part One of Two

In the remarkable space of only a few short years, an ideology with a totalitarian bent, powered by a concoction of group hatred, defamation and mental health issues and full of other assorted mischiefs normally associated with hate groups has infused the core institutions of the science fiction community's fans and writers. That includes what amounts to racial incitement. The origins of this sociopathic ideology will surprise you as well as explain the nature of its antipathy.

This is a very long essay (in two parts), and very illuminating, too.

Our State Department Started UN Gun Control

We need to leave the UN immediately and send a lot of politicians to prison.
