Idiot "Academic" Advocates Victim Disarmament
by L. Neil Smith
A friend of mine sent me an article this week that came from
Patriot Update. a freedom movement publication. It, in turn, referred the
reader to the same article in The Blaze by Dave Urbanski. The long, awkward
headline in both cases read "Professor Says America Has Proven Its Inability to
Handle Widespread Gun Ownership". Like many another gun-grabbing hoplophobe, the
guy's skull is so full of festering, malicious garbage, it's hard to know where to
start. To begin with, the "professor"in question is one John Traphagan; his specialty
is religious studies. At the risk of offending my friends who happen to be religious,
I'll point out that the guy makes a living blathering in a field which has no subject
matter, no hard facts, and no repeatable experiments. To me, the mental processes of
anybody over four years old who admits to having an Imaginary Playmate, or sees
fairies at the bottom of his garden are suspect. At least.

Nigel Farage and the Leadership Principle
by Sean Gabb
I have met Nigel Farage three times. Once was when we had lunch.
The other times were when I attended UKIP events, and we found ourselves in conversation.
I liked him. He had no reason to court me, but was both charming and modest. This is
not to say that I am a regular UKIP voter. I always vote UKIP in European election.
I voted UKIP in the 2001 and 2005 general elections, when it was plain that the
Conservatives would lose, and the best use for my vote was to tell them to try harder.
But I voted Conservative in 2010, when they had a good chance to get Labour out, and
again in 2015, when it seemed they might fail to keep Labour out. I remain, even so,
a fan of Mr Farage, and was glad that UKIP did well in terms of votes the week before last.

Why Won't Iran Make an Arms Deal with Obama?
by J. Neil Schulman
The Fox News pundits will love this article for once because they'll
think it's only about attacking Barack Obama. It can't be helped. Yesterday the Iranian
Ayatollahs made it clear there's no middle ground in negotiations between Iran and the
United States-led coalition to reach a treaty denying Iran the ability to make an atomic
bomb. Considering how impactful economic sanctions have been on Iran, this is on the face
of it a curiously obstinate position for the Iranian rulers to take.
