Josie Wales—Would Kick Dylan Storm's, Bitchy Little Ass
Special to L. Neil Smith's The Libertarian Enterprise It doesn't take much of a man to walk into a church and shoot a bunch of unarmed people. (I wish Josie Wales would have been there. I don't think Dylan would have survived.) It also doesn't take much of a man to use a lunatics actions, as a justification to rape people's rights. And I'm not sure what it makes someone when they can't even wait for the bodies to cool before they have a plan on how to use those deaths for their political profit. Flags mean different things to different people. When I see a Confederate flag I think of State's Rights and a heroic attempt to resist Federal tyranny, and I wish to the almighty (should he actually exist) that the South would have won. Anyone that has bothered to study history on his or her own knows the Civil War had little to do with Chattel Slavery. Lincoln was very clear that he was willing to keep slavery legal if he could thereby induce the Southern State's to remain in the Union. And on April 9th, 1865 everyone became a slave. (Robert E. Lee surrendered the last significant Confederate force to Uylesses S. Grant—a notorious drunkard and a slave owner—on this date.) I can't think of anything else to call it when a person is forced to bow down to a "government" to which they do not consent. I can hear ya, "we aren't slaves!" Oh, yeah? Try not paying your "taxes." Do you REALLY own your house? Try not paying your property "tax." Really, you are renting. They own the water (ask them) they'll lock you up for collecting rainwater. They own your kids. Don't get a birth certificate or refuse to inoculate or home school. They own your kids. And THEY OWN you. Personally I find the Yankee war flag—the American flag offensive. I mean that. I'm not looking to shock here. I find the thing offensive. Same thing with the Pledge of Allegiance, Memorial day, Veterans day and NASCAR. (NASCAR offends the fuck out of me.) The Tuskegee experiments. The JFK assassination. Hiroshima—Nagasaki—hell, Pearl Harbor itself. (That's right—Roosevelt knew it was going to happen and allowed it so he would have an excuse to get us involved in WW2.) Waco—Ruby Ridge, Bundy Ranch would be on this list if it weren't for the fine Americans that stood up and said, "no, not this time! Not on our watch!" Kelly Thomas. Eric Garner. I could go on and on. The police alone give us a reason to be disenfranchised at least three times a day, just from Cop-Block stories. The fact that Obama "wants to put the Confederate flag into the dustbins of history" should be a pretty good clue that it still has value when one considers that is coming from the mouth of the greatest would—be dictator since, Pol Pot or Ted Kennedy. They want to ban our flags and our guns. There IS a war in this country. But it isn't the war that Dylan Storm wants. It isn't black vs. white. And no matter how hard Dylan Storm or Al Sharpton want to make it a race war—we won't allow it, will we?
The first amendment, and the second, into the "dustbin of history..." Yeah—well, not on my watch... The war is actually begun! It's the individual vs. the "State."
