The Scope of the Second Amendment

Statists who wish aristocratic domination over the people 
often enough interpret the Second Amendment as an historical dead-letter 
preserving only trivial hunting rights. They nullify the ability of the 
people to organize as law-enforcing militia. In their view militias (that 
means armed civilians, organized or not) have been replaced by armed 
paramilitary police forces and the various state and national military guards.

John Perry Barlow: a Wyoming Giant

John Perry Barlow was born near Cora, Wyoming and grew up 
on a 22,000 acre ranch. When he was 15 he attended the Mountain Valley 
School in Colorado where he met Bob Weir in 1962. Weir and he would go 
on to compose songs to Barlow's lyrics as part of the Grateful Dead experience.

Libertarian Alliance, I was asked if I had taken leave of my senses. I was 
not visibly broken down by age and ill health. I had evidently not run out of 
things to say. Why, then, was I steeping aside in favour of a young man who 
was nearly forty years my junior?
