The Truth Is Down Here
by L. Neil Smith
This may not be the strangest idea I’ve ever had,
but it’s pretty damned strange. I was born in 1946. Whatever the hell took
place in Roswell, New Mexico happened in 1947. Weather balloon my ass. I
have been lied to and kept in the dark—and so have you—by the Deepest
State ever since then, more than 70 years, and I’m fucking sick and tired
of it. We the People can’t make intelligent decisions about the country
we’re supposed to be running for ourselves if we’re denied the facts of
objective reality. They make fun of us because we can’t and call us
“deplorables”; they call us “credulous boomer rubes”. Sure, I am perfectly
aware that this is a republic we’re living in, not a democracy, but it is
a democratically-operated republic, damnit, and I never voted to be
deceived at every turn by overpaid bureaucrats and overstuffed uniforms
betraying their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.

How Things Have Always Been
by Sarah A. Hoyt
Part of the problem with humans is that we tend to
get used to “how things have always been.” And when those “things” are
comfortable for us, it’s hard to imagine them changing. Sure, the human
animal is adaptable, but sometimes it takes us a while to figure out how
to work around when things change. For instance, say we move the furniture
in the house: if I come downstairs in the middle of the night to get water
or deal with screaming cats (it happens) I will walk carefully around
where the sofa used to be and then walk right into where it is, or perhaps
trip over the coffee table and fall on the cat. (In addition to my being
completely night blind, I’m usually without my glasses in these excursions.)

They Despise You
by Jim Davidson
You are despised. China’s government privately
discussed in 2002 their plans to use biological weapons to exterminate the
human population of North America and occupy it with their people.
Don’t be smug, though, your government and that of the United Kingdom made
very similar plans to exterminate the population of Africa.

Progressive Hell
by Sean Gangol
Recently, I found this article on Taki’s Magazine, by
Joe Bob Briggs, titled “Who Cut the Balls off of San Francisco?” For those
of you who are unfamiliar with the work of Joe Bob Briggs, he is a
columnist that is most known as “The Drive-In Critic.” He also played bit
parts in various movies, but I personally remember him as the host of
TNT’s Monstervision during the mid and late nineties. I used to love the
way he would critique horror, sci-fi, exploitation and various B-Movies
with his mixture of blunt humor that he took from his redneck alter-ego,
along with an insight that was surprisingly witty and intelligent.

If I Was The Donald…
by L. Reichard White
Well, although my high-priced lawyers strongly
advised against it, I’ve agreed to give a statement—on the record—about my
own Senate impeachment trial. Several in fact. But I think one should be
enough. Now I have to admit I’m a bit gun-shy because I’ve been under
constant attack by the Democrats since even before I took office.
They called that first attack Crossfire-Hurricane. Catchy name. And I of
course came out squeaky clean.

Part 16 & 17
by Jim Davidson
Little Bob looked at his sister Kathy. She was
completely gone, staring at their mom and dad who were themselves
completely enwrapped in one another, kissing, embracing, murmuring soft
words and kissing more. Little Bob rolled his eyes. It wasn’t helping
dissolve the scene before him, so he turned his head and rolled his eyes
in a different direction. Wait, what? His sister Amy was holding an IV
fluids bottle off the ground so it could drain into that guy, Brandon, who
had gotten himself shot. Two med techs were gathered there and performing
emergency surgery to sew up some internal artery that had been opened in
the firefight. But that was all ordinary emergency medicine, about which
Little Bob was familiar from family drills, online videos, and life saving
training sessions with the Junior Gold Cross.

Animals Are Property
by L. Neil Smith
Last Friday I watched an episode of X-Files
in which innocent zoo animals were being abducted—apparently by benign,
superior UFOsies (the ones who mutilate cattle and stick needles in
women’s bellies)—to save them from a despicable mankind responsible for
the erasure of thousands of species every year. Or every week, I forget
which.
