Again a Letter from A.X. Perez Re: Zagmuk, Christmas, and the Whole Nine Candles, by L. Neil Smith From the pen of Thomas Jefferson:
The above is from a letter to Dr. Benjamin Rush. I have put in bold Jefferson's famous quote, thought some of you might want to check out the context. While more appropriate for discussion of Easter it must be pointed out that Jesus' death and resurrection is an example of TANSTAAFL. If even God has to pay to free men from sin, what makes politicians think they can run up tabs that don't have to be paid? (actually they don't, they promise their marks that TANSTAAFL can be beat in exchange for power and arrange for the bill to fall due after they're gone.) Meanwhile let me add to the list of midwinter holidays: (December 15) A.X. Perez
To which Ted Ball replied: "The whole of that Bill [of Rights] is a declaration of the right of
the people at large or considered as individuals... It establishes
some rights of the individual as unalienable and which consequently,
no majority has a right to deprive them of."

I quote the following from Wikipedia Re gun rights (see their article on right to keep and bear arms): Nadine Strossen, President of the American Civil Liberties Union, has stated the argument that the Individual Rights model must yield to reasonable regulation.[74] "Let's assume for the sake of argument it does protect an individual right," said Strossen, "it is no more absolute than freedom of speech or any other right in the Constitution. No right is absolute; the government is always allowed to restrict the right if it can satisfy Constitutional strict scrutiny and show the restriction is narrowly tailored to promote a goal of compelling importance."[75] I guess we're just lucky that the ACLU doesn't apply the same standard to how it interprets and helps people defend their other rights under the Bill of Rights, the 14th amendment and other parts of the Constitution. Then again, maybe they're using gun rights as the "foot in the door" to begin their sell out to those who would emasculate the Bill of Rights. A.X. Perez
Anyone who asks you to be reasonable and give up your rights is an evil person. The proper response is to demand that they be reasonable and give up their rights. But they are probably also funcationally stupid like Ms. Strossen, and will fail to appreciate the point. As for me, I will be reasonable and cling to my rights, for that to me is the reasonable thing to do, not what some whore-lawyer says is reasonable.Editor (Wait, is "whore-lawyer" a redundant expression? At least some of the time? There must be honest and moral lawyers somewhere out there... right? Right??)
Que dijo el yanqui? As far as I can tell from Eric Holder's testimony to Congress it is not a lie to knowingly and deliberately state a falsehood if you didn't intend to lie. Guess I don't speak the same dialect of English he does. A.X. Perez
