The unabridged audio version of my 1983 novel The Nagasaki Vector,
brilliantly read by the great libertarian radio host Brian Wilson, is finally
available for purchase.
Many feel that this is the funniest book I've written so farat least
intentionallyand features our old friend Win Bear, G. Howell Nahuatl, a
sapient coyote, time traveler Bernie Gruenblum, and Georgie, the time machine
who loves him.

The Shiny New Face of Genocide by L. Neil Smith
Regular readers of L. Neil Smith's THE LIBERTARIAN ENTERPRISE
will remember that, on a number of occasions, I have attempted to warn them about the
plans that radical environmentalists are makingthe schemes they're scheming right
in front of our nosesto reshape our lives and the world we all live in, whether we
want them reshaped or not. Unlike other subjects I've chosen to write about, I've never
gotten much feedback on this one, though, if I'm right, it may prove to be the most
important item I've ever directed my attentionor tried to direct the attention of
othersto. I'm fairly sure this lack of response is because the plans our would-be
masters are making for us are very difficult to believe, utterly, outrageously fantastic,
exactly like something out of bad science fictionor Pinky and the Brain.

I Love My Guns by Susan Callaway
Some recent comments on various message boards frequented by shooters
indicate that a few people are either changing their minds or are bowing to the politically
correct pressure of the day. They have begun to assert that they do NOT "love their guns"
and only view them as necessary tools. While I couldn't agree more that guns are simply
tools, pretty much like any others, I don't know why that would make them unlovable. Most
men love their tools, all different kinds, and men have always loved their guns. I'm
certainly not ashamed to join those men.

Freedom in One State: The Free State Project by Bill Walker
In the last legislative session, New Hampshire cut its state
budget by more than 12%, and stopped the out-of-control borrowing of the previous
legislature. Over the last few years, the state has reduced bureaucratic controls
on everything from beer brewing to switchblades (NH in fact has no knife laws
whatsoever; the entire body of 1800s-era anti-Scotsman dirk laws has been tossed).
This session, bills for everything from school tax credits to marijuana
decriminalization have been introduced.

So Disappointing by James Glaser
There was a little notice in the local paper about a Tea Party
meeting at a local restaurant on Saturday at noon. I decided to give it a try. I am
totally burned out by both the Republican and Democratic parties, so I thought that
maybe this Tea Party movement would have something to offer.

The Face of Evil by L. Neil Smith
Elsewhere in this issue of L. Neil Smith's THE LIBERTARIAN
ENTERPRISE, you will find an article about a young womana college professorwho
thinks that anyone who disagrees with her about global warming should be "treated" for the
"illness" their dissent reveals. We have also published the woman's photograph, which I
believe makes an argument all by itself. But more on that later, as I get to it.
